Condition:
GREAT .... ALMOST EXCELLENT*
Description:
Cis Brooch by Countess Zoltowska. Amazing three
dimensional brooch with vibrant sapphire and emerald colored
rhinestones. The large pear shape rhinestones are
either solid in color or embedded with glitter. The
contrast between the two is magnificent. The center
portion of the brooch is very much like the famous Cis
Dandelion brooch with a cluster of chaton shape
rhinestones that are attached via long wispy wires yielding
an illusion of movement.
The cup mounts are typical of Cis
and the brooch is secured via a trombone clasp. The
center of the brooch bears the Cis mark so there is no
guessing on this piece as being a true Cis.
Countess Zoltowska or "Cissy,"
as she is sometimes called, is noted especially for
her amazing designs of the 1960s. Rarely does a
fantastic piece come onto the market before quickly being
acquired by the most discerning and serious of collectors of
bijoux couture.
This is an absolutely a
rare find that The Jewelry Stylist is so proud to present.
SPECIAL
NOTATIONS:
As is the
case with all of our jewelry we try to describe it as
accurately as possible. Upon examining the photos for
this piece, we noticed that one "cup" holding a large pear
shape stone appears to be pushed slightly to one side.
It's very hard to notice or know for sure because often the
stones of Cis pieces seem oversized for the structure of the
cup in which the rhinestone is surmounted.
Secondly
there are some nicks or "flea bites" on the sparkly
rhinestones. It has been suggested that's because that's
where glitter flaked off of the surface when it was planed
down. It is very much like the surface of granite in
terms of how it looks and is not present on other stones.
We believe this to be original to the piece.
We have
included a number of pictures for your viewing to help you
with this purchase. Again... it was not noticed until
previewing the photos. In light of this we are
offering a rare 20% discount on this piece.
Being sold as is.
