Vintage Open-back Tapered Rhinestone Necklace
This beautiful piece is a gorgeous vintage c. 1950s open-back tapered amethyst-colored rhinestone necklace. It resembles some of the 1920s Deco-style open-back necklaces, but the length, hook, and ultimately the chunkiness of the stones terminating to a stone measuring nearly 13/16″ in diameter has us think this is a 1950s piece. The hook closure came into vogue in the 1950s. The smaller settings appear gold-plated brass, while the larger stones appear to be set in a white metal setting. All stones are prong-set.
