Oscar de la Renta Swarovski Statement Necklace
Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo, Oscar de la Renta (his professional name), was a Dominican American fashion designer. He trained under fashion designer Cristóbal Balenciaga and artist and sculptor, Antonio del Castillo. Favored by Jacqueline Kennedy, he became internationally known in the 1960s as a couturier to the first lady. During his career, he worked for Lanvin and Balmain. Today, the fashion house remains an important part of fashion world-wide. Oscar de la Renta lived to the age of 82. He died on Oct. 20, 2014.
