Natacha Brooks Russian Headdress Brooch
Coordinate Jewelry Sets Popularized in 1946
In 1946, coordinated sets were quite desired by consumers. Sellers of jewelry anticipated high sell rates of coordinated necklace and bracelet sets, particularly for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. Natacha Brooks, for her spring line, offered a “puzzle ball” motif in a matching necklace and pendant earrings. The company also introduced a line inspired by the headdress of a Russian woman. The figural two-tone gold brooch featured carved filigree metal work for the headdress suspending semi-precious stone drops from the collar. A matching bracelet, earrings, and chatelaine-type pin were part of the line. #jewelryhistory #natachabrookshistory #russianheaddressbrooch
