Exquisite Hobe Style Jewelry Suite
This suite is beyond breathtaking. It is a fine example of the high-end costume jewelry that was made during the 1950s. The set consists of four pieces: brooch, necklace, bracelet and earrings.
The Design
The design features pinched or crimped gilt beads flanked by dark and light lavender-colored chatons flanking an oval mottled purple cabochon. This design element is carried out through the design. The matching brooch has foxtail-style chain dangles, some terminating with chatons. The necklace and bracelet feature a different style chain that drapes perfectly.
A great find for any collector of high-end jewelry.

• Designer or Maker: We believe this to be Hobe, however, all pieces are unsigned. We’ve had some discussion about the set in a study group and it has been suggested that this is Hobe with some believing it is possibly Alice Caviness. We make no claims to it being either manufacturer.

• Circa Date: 1950s
• Condition: This set is in almost new condition. Gold chains are bright and clean. There is one strand on the bracelet that has a very slight almost non-visible darkening of gold tone for approx. 1 inch. The pin stem on the brooch has a very slight curve in it. It also may have about three darkened stones. It’s hard to tell but we believe they have shifted color. No verdigris or metal loss is present. A RARE FIND

3. Brooch: 3 15/16″ t.l. x 2″ w.
4. Earrings: 1 3/8″ t.l. x 1″ w.
